Planit Meetings is the go-to HOTEL EXPERT for last minute hotel reservations in cities across the U.S. Our services, including comprehensive concierge services, are FREE, never pre-paid.

Planit Meetings is also a meetings and individual travel company, founded by Kevin Elder, based in Apex, N.C., with offices in Washington, DC and Annapolis.

We offer discounted hotel rates for solo travelers, at hotels in cities across the US. We also do meeting site selection and make hotel room blocks for meetings, reunions, weddings, and other events, in cities around the world.

For our meetings/ events clients, we do as little or as much meeting/ event planning required. Our collective experience, between our 4-member staff, is more than 125 years, of doing the best most unboring meetings and events, under budget.

The hotels we use are personally inspected -- both meeting rooms and guest rooms; we KNOW the hotels...the ones currently under renovation, the pluses and minuses of hotels in large chains and boutique hotels.

Only 85 miles south of Washington, DC, the historic Inn at Levelfields makes a nice winter getaway. Winter season rates start at $125 per night, and includes a hearty breakfast for two. The property includes 54 acres, perfect for quiet winter hiking. The Inn is nestled in an area with many small lakes, and then there is the gorgeous nearby Hughlett Point nature trail that takes you out to the Chesapeake Bay, and the Belle Isle trail that runs along the Rappahannock River.

A good friend from college is from Petersburg, Alaska, a lovely town of about 4,000 on Mitkof Island, in southeast Alaska, that I visited a few summers ago. Planit Meetings cannot get you hotel accommodations in Petersburg, but we can help you get a good B & B on Mitkof Island. Because of all the rain -- Petersburg is in a rain forest -- most roofs are (red) tin. To get to Mitkof Island, you can take a ferry from the Alaska Marine Highway System (http://www.dot.state.ak.us/amhs/index.shtml), highly recommended, or fly in from Juneau.
